Book Number Cinco

I think it's obvious that I'm terrible when it comes to updating my blog. Where do I start?

Remember that YA contemp I said I was gonna write? Uuuuh....yeah. It's tucked away into my 'writing' folder for another time. As it turns out, I'm just not cut out for contemp, at least not now.

DROWNING BAILEY is still in the slush pile, but as it's unprofessional to talk about it, I'll leave it at that.

However, if you follow me on Twitter, then you know I've been working on a new YA Psychological Thriller. I may be bias since I'm writing it, but it's going to be awesome! I am having so much fun working on this WIP, and I can't wait to share the premise and title with you. That's right, it already has a title. It came to me one day and I just had to keep it. So far, I've written 14K and it's still going strong. It may or may not be about a serial killer. *wink*

Now that we're all up to date on that. I just read the most amazing book recently and I have to share. Are you ready for this? Here it is:

I felt things, you guys. This book had me laughing, crying, and falling in love. Do yourself a favor and read this book as soon as you can. You won't regret it.

*refresh, refresh, refresh*

To kill time, I started up on a new ms. I work on it ever now and again, but at least it's something. Most of all, I've been spending loads of time reading. Catching up on the YA genre is alway a great way to get your mind off things. I'm constantly amazed by the talent of each book and each author. It pumps me up, wanting, hoping to someday be apart of a genre that has made such a huge impact on so many people. Especially within the last 10 years.

Two books that I've read recently that really stand out are:

Both phenomenal and unique characters, and a plot that keeps you turning those pages. I've waited months for these titles, and they didn't let me down.

What book(s) are you reading? How do you keep your mind busy while querying?
