It's NaNoWriMo time again!

So I wasn't sure if I was going to participate this year, but since a shiny new idea has popped into my head, I figured the time is now. To be honest, I've had this concept in my head for a really long time. I've never attempted contemporary before and I wasn't sure if I could actually pull it off. But once I let the ideas flow and the words scramble out, I knew it was time to get it done. I'm really, REALLY excited about this new project. It's a story very close to my heart.

For the first time ever I'll be drafting two mss at the same time. Not sure how well this will go over, but it's a challenge I'm willing to accept. If you're doing NaNoWriMo and want to add me, you can find me here.

Here's the synopsis for my YA dark contemporary as posted on the NaNo website:

Delia Summers has been hiding a secret, one of many. From the outside looking in her life appears like any other, but it's what happens within the house that no one could ever know. If they could see the bruises hidden under her clothes or the scars on her arms, the truth would be exposed. No one understands what it's like to know real fear––a fear manipulated by the one person who was always supposed to protect her.
The scars along her arms were the seams keeping her stitched together. They were her survival. But when she meets Jackson Briggs, her best friend Jenae's new boyfriend, suddenly her life doesn't feel so dark anymore.
You can also find an excerpt of SCAR TISSUE on my NaNo page as well. Happy writing and good luck!

  1. Love the sound of this. Just the kind of story I like to read. I'll probably sign up for NaNo. Not sure if I'll finish because I have other projects to work on, but if I don't, that's okay because I've done it before. So I know I can.

    Good luck on NaNo!

  2. @SuziI already told myself that it's okay if I don't finish. I think just doing it is a good way to get kick started. Link me to your profile if you decide to do it. I'll add you. :)
