I found this link on my Goodreads profile and thought I'd give it a try. It's easy to fall behind on reading and I always end up kicking myself for missing out on so many amazing books. The 2013 Reading Challenge looked like a fun to way to keep up with all the fabulous book releases, and even catch up on some I should have read a long time ago. *cough* The Fault in Our Stars *cough*
So I'm challenging myself to read AT LEAST fifty books this year. That doesn't sound like much, but with the hustle and bustle of things it seemed like a decent goal. And if I end up reading a hundred books, well, I'll just have to high five myself.
How about it? Give yourself a challenge. What's your reading goal for 2013?
Great plan - I'm in! And today I was going to post my first book review on my blog, so what better tie-in than to commit to a reading challenge? It's fate, I tell ye. Fate.
ReplyDeleteI also tend to fall behind with reading. Sometimes after a long day at work and then an evening bashing away on my laptop, I have no brain power left to focus on a book.
I'll shoot for 50 too. Nice round number :)
Thanks for sharing! This is a great idea. Recently I noticed that I haven't been reading as much as I did a few years ago. Hopefully this will motivate me to read more this year!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I haven't read A Fault in our Stars yet either... I feel so guilty...
This is a good idea! I think I am going to do this too. I have gotten into the habit of downloading tons of books to my Kindle and forgetting they are there...
ReplyDelete@C. A. MitchellI've been trying to read as much as possible this year. This goal will be a good way to keep on track.
ReplyDelete@JamieLooks like we need to add that book to our list! haha
ReplyDelete@Kristin BaldwinI think I'll try to buy more books as opposed to downloading onto my Kindle. It's just so convenient.
ReplyDeleteGood goal. I hope you reach and exceed it! I'll be lucky if I read half of that. Though, my library just had a ten cent book sale so I've stocked up. Now there's a massive pile of books on my desk staring me down and yelling at me to read more.
